Wayne Erlenbush
Wayne was born and raised in Baker, Montana, and lived most of his childhood years across the street from St John’s Catholic Church. However, it wasn’t until after marrying Meg, who was born Catholic, and attending Catholic church for twenty years, that Wayne became Catholic in 2001. His sponsor was his son, now Father Ryan Erlenbush, who then was a senior at Billings Central Catholic High School.
Wayne previously served on the boards of the St. Pius X Billings Cemetery Foundation, the Billings Catholic Schools Foundation, Family Service of Billings, Billings TrailNet, and several other organizations. He believes in the mission of the Catholic Foundation of Montana as being vital to the continuation of all parishes and to broadening the positive impact of the Catholic faith throughout the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings.
Now retired after over 40 years in the agricultural and commercial banking business, Wayne is a former marathon runner who enjoys road and mountain biking, bicycle touring, downhill and cross-country skiing, and backpacking.
Wayne and Meg have two sons, Father Ryan and Marcus. They enjoy spending time with their granddaughter and twin grandsons, the children of Marcus and Veronica, who also live in Billings. Wayne is a member of St. Anthony’s in Laurel and also attends St. Patrick’s in Billings—and, of course, Corpus Christi in Great Falls, where Father Ryan is the pastor.
