In 1974, Ed and Mary were married in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lewistown. Mary was devoted to going to church every week with Ed for more than 50 years, even though she remained a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In 1974, Ed served on the Calvary Cemetery Board for many years. The Althoffs wanted this endowment to “help maintain our beautiful cemetery forever.” Calvary Cemetery is a sacred place that shows how much we owe to the Catholics who have gone before us.

Your support of permanent endowments at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana can qualify you for unique tax and/or lifetime income benefits (especially the hefty 40% Montana Endowment Tax Credit) through what we call “planned gifts.”
Establish a Named (Legacy) Endowment
Donors may create a Named (Legacy) Endowment benefiting the Catholic parish, school, or ministry of their choice. All that’s required to start is a gift of $20,000 or more (or a pledge of $20,000 or more, given within five years of creating the endowment).
