Growing Disciples, Now and Forever

Parish Catalyst director John Poitevent gives a “dynamic discipleship” retreat to leaders at St. Pius X in Billings, a resource made possible by the parish’s Ministry Endowment at the Foundation.

Passing along the faith from generation to generation is a hallmark of what it means to be Catholic. And it’s also the job of the endowments at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana.

Several parishes in our diocese have multiple endowments at the Foundation, and St. Pius X in Billings is no exception—but their Ministry Endowment is particularly beloved by many at the parish. Both this year and last, this endowment’s distributions have funded St. Pius X’s involvement in a national two-year program called “Parish Catalyst,” which develops parish leaders into dynamic disciples as they deepen their relationship with Jesus. They, in turn, then develop disciples in their parish community.

Kathy McCleary, Parish Catalyst program coordinator for the parish, says, “The goal is that we will all develop the five characteristics of disciples: believe, grow, gather, love, and lead. I’m excited to see where this will lead St. Pius X, and so I really think the world of the donors who give to our Ministry Endowment at the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana. This ministry process is possible thanks to our St. Pius X Ministry Endowment distributions.”

Thank you to all our donors who give to the permanent endowments that serve the Church of future generations. Hopefully, the Catholic Church will continue growing faithfully, only getting better with time!
